Dell announced its intent to acquire SonicWALL and its product portfolio, R&D, patent portfolio, and sales and servicing functions. As you may know, SonicWALL is a global leader in advanced network security and data protection. SonicWALL’s Unified Threat Management capabilities complement Dell’s security solutions portfolio, enabling it to offer customers a broader range of enterprise offerings.

The acquisition of SonicWALL is the next step in Dell’s strategy to expand its solutions capabilities for customers and simplify management of their IT infrastructure. SonicWALL provides Dell an opportunity to offer a comprehensive Unified Threat Management solution to SMBs and Next Generation Firewall to Large Enterprise and Public customers. SonicWALL will become Dell’s center of excellence for security appliance solutions.
